Please note: We are not a shelter and can't help you place a feral or stray cat you don't want around your property. We can help you to find a shelter that might take that feral or stray kitty for you. Please see our Links page.
TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)
How can neighborhoods and communities stop feral feline overpopulation?
Because of overpopulation, feral feline communities are all too frequently rounded up and, because they have had little or no human contact and are thus unadoptable, they are killed.
There is a better way to control feral cats: nonlethal feral feline population control, including Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), which uses humane, ethical methods to reduce feral cat populations.
Trap-Neuter-Return, practiced throughout much of North America and Europe, is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Ear-tipping is performed to identify sterilized cats within a colony.
Kittens and tame cats can be adopted into good homes on a case by case basis. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers.
